Parking of Cars on One Side of the Lanes

Dear Residents,

Over the last few years, car ownership has increased rapidly resulting in parking congestion in  our lanes and causing inconvenience to neighbours and drivers. We have noticed that some of our lanes follow disciplines in parking cars. But residents of some lanes have expressed their concern. To ease the problems, we propose implementing the following arrangement:-

1) The cars shall be parked on one side of the lanes only. The choice of which side to park may be indicated by the Lane Representatives in consultation with residents of the lanes.

2) Parking on both sides be avoided, as it severely hinders traffic flow and create unnecessary inconveniences for others.

3) Cars may be parked as close to the kerb as possible to leave enough space for other cars to pass.

4) To accommodate cars of the house opposite, those having more than one car should park the extra cars in their Garage/ Driveway.

5) Parking in front of neighbour’s driveways/entrances should be avoided.

6) Those who have kept Rickshaw Pullers in their houses/ garages, should keep the Rickshaws in their Garages/ Driveways only.

7) Parking from one side of the lane to the other side may be switched over occasionally for convenience of cleaning both sides of the lanes.

8) The above measures will allow the remaining space for smooth traffic flow, reducing congestion and preventing potential accidents.

9) Most importantly, all lanes should have unhindered passages all the time for smooth access of emergency vehicle like, Ambulance, Fire Tenders, etc.

We understand that these measures may require some adjustments in some lanes, and the success of this initiative relies on the collective effort of residents.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Yours sincerely,

S/d
