Dear Residents,

At the outset we convey our sincere thanks to all the residents of Salt Lake FE Block for their whole hearted cooperation in smooth conducting of Durga Puja in the situation of Pandemic abiding by all the guidelines and regulations issued by the statutory authorities, Hon`ble Court and Government. We appreciate the inconvenience you have faced for not being able to come to the Pandal area, however many of you appreciated the live streaming covering almost all the major events including cultural programme.

Like every year, Kali Puja and Diwali will be celebrated in the Block on 14th November 2020. As we are going through the same regulations from the Government and Hon`ble Court, we need to abide by the strict discipline on maintaining the safe distance norm and only 10-15 persons will be allowed within the pandal area. However, residents can view the puja and the image from a barrier fixed at 5 metres distance from the pandal. For the convenience of the residents, as has been done during Durga Puja, we are arranging for digital streaming through You Tube Live. Kali Puja will start from 6 p.m. of 14th November 2020. We would request the residents to follow the same SOP, circulated prior to Durga Puja. Especially the residents having age more than 65 years and children below 10 years are requested to avoid physical presence in the puja area. We are arranging for deep sanitization, hand sanitizer and wearing of mask is a must while coming to the Community Centre Park. Residents are advised to offer Anjali from their respective homes and no prasad, except that of uncut fruits, will be accepted.

This year, there has been a special request not to use any firecrackers and any form of fireworks which otherwise will create environment pollution and in this pandemic this will adversely affect the health of the residents. There will be strict vigilance on the part of police administration and let us all keep our eyes open to see that the residents do not use fireworks in the evening of Kali Puja. We hope, with your cooperation, we will be able to organize Kali Puja smoothly as scheduled.
